Lingfield Education Trust Admissions Policy
Process of Application
We are delighted that you are considering applying for a place at Hemlington Hall Academy. Applications for places at the School will be made in accordance with the LA’s co-ordinated admission arrangements and will be made on the Primary School Application (PSA) provided and administered by Middlesbrough Borough Council. Prospective students and their parents/carers are encouraged to visit the School before making an application.
Appeals Guidance
If the school receives more applications from parents/carers than it has places available, not every child can be successful in securing a school place. The Trust will use its admissions criteria, also known as oversubscription criteria, to decide which children to allocate places to.
Parents/carers have the right of appeal to an independent appeal panel if they are dissatisfied with an admissions decision of the Trust. The appeal panel will be independent of the Trust. The arrangements for appeals will be in line with the School Admission Appeals Code published by the Department for Education. The decision of the panel is binding on all parties.
Parents can only appeal once for any academic year unless there has been a change in circumstances relevant to the application.

Nursery Admissions:
At Hemlington Hall Academy, our Nursery has a 30 hours provision. Parents make contact with the school office to request a place for their child in Nursery. Children are offered a Nursery place in the term that the child celebrates their third birthday. All Nursery children are offered 15 hours per week based on either five mornings or five afternoons. Those qualifying for 30 hours per week are offered full days, if we can accommodate. Parental choice is granted wherever possible.
